Who Must Participate in Drug and Alcohol Education Training?

If you own or manage a company operating vehicles that require a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and employ multiple individuals, both supervisors and drivers are required to complete a basic drug and alcohol abuse education course.

Managers who have previously completed supervisor training at their current position are exempt from retaking the course. Additionally, owner-operators are required to enroll in a drug testing consortium but are not obligated to participate in the training course.
